Roy Hoogstad (25) has been sailing in the Oosterschelde his whole life. As a baby on his father's lap, and since 2017, he has been at the helm himself. 'When I left school, I knew right away that I wanted to become a skipper.' Roy was able to join his parents' company, Frisia Rondvaarten. In the summer, he sails out almost daily. Roy's parents, Coby and Gerard, started offering boat tours in the mid-90s when fish stocks were declining. They now have two boats: the large Frisia and the somewhat smaller Frisia 2. The boats are docked in Sint-Annaland on Tholen, near Roy's hometown, Sint-Maartensdijk. 'In ten minutes by bike, I am at the dike, at Gorishoek. From the dike, you can often see porpoises there.'
