Where nature begins in the towns and cities
A landscape full of meandering streams, vast natural areas, farmland, estates, and beautiful city and village views. That is Van Gogh National Park, the area where Vincent van Gogh grew up. Here in the heart of Brabant, this headstrong painter was inspired by nature and the hard-working people who played a significant role in his world-famous masterpieces. In this national park, towns and cities are directly connected to nature. It is an area where people work hard, but also enjoy themselves to the fullest.
Greening to the heart of cities and villages
Van Gogh National Park is a large area in North Brabant where Vincent van Gogh grew up. In an area of about 100,000 hectares, partners here are working together under the banner of Van Gogh NP to achieve greening right into the heart of the cities and villages. At the core lies the formal national park, which is approximately 50,000 ha in size. The formal national park is roughly located between Eindhoven, Tilburg, and Den Bosch, while the cooperative area extends to the surroundings of Breda and Helmond.
In Van Gogh National Park, parties are working hard to give this landscape a sustainable, vital, and nature-inclusive future. Van Gogh NP starts at your front door. Discover it yourself!
Vincent's Birthplace
In this national park, you can hear and experience the story of Vincent and his connection to Brabant. His origin lies in the town of Zundert, where his love for nature began. In Etten Leur, not far from there, Vincent decided to follow his heart and become a painter. Those who want to get to know Vincent up close should visit Nuenen, where he painted his first masterpiece 'The Potato Eaters' in 1885. And there are more places here that offer a glimpse into the life and work of the man who inspires people all over the world.
