Bouke loves spotting animals. With gleaming eyes: “A while back, we sat with the ranger for two hours in the rain and cold in a little boat. We then saw nine deer, and the rain didn't matter at all anymore.” Bouke enjoys going on adventures in the area: “Otis lives on a farm. It borders the Weerribben. The two of us once crawled for a very long time with binoculars and a green cloth over us. We were all the way in the back of the land and kept very still. We saw about twenty deer then. That was truly very special!”

So many little creatures
I also find swamp areas beautiful. And quaking bogs. We were there once with the club. Half of us went jumping and the other half stayed standing. You could feel the ground move! Once, we shook a bush with a white sheet on the ground. There were so many little critters! It was such a surprise. I once had a spider that was about to eat a woodlouse and a ladybug. A stink bug started fighting with the spider. So much was happening. If you wait for a long time and get nothing, you often end up with the most. At first, I was amazed. There were so many little critters on a branch. After that, I just found it really fun."
