Recently, EUROPARC installed the second cohort of the Youth Council. The selected young people represent the diversity of active youth within the EUROPARC network and bring the necessary energy and capacity for this. Erine de Man, communication and education coordinator at National Park De Alde Feanen, is one of the eleven members of the Youth Council.
EUROPARC represents the protected areas in Europe. The organization acts as a collective voice for all nature and landscape areas. The aim is to build a stronger, connecting European network organization that supports members in responding to challenges faced by European nature. The EUROPARC strategy for 2030 aims to strengthen the voice of young people in all its activities.
Youth Involvement
The EUROPARC Youth Council promotes youth involvement in decision-making. Young people are invited to provide input on topics relevant to all EUROPARC programs. Over the next two years, the Youth Council will provide the youth representative on the EUROPARC Council with insights and perspectives on strategic decisions. They also keep in contact with the EUROPARC youth community through interactions with other young professionals and Youth+ groups.
Dialogue
The EUROPARC network asks national parks to engage in dialogue with the members of the youth council, invite them to events and activities, and help them develop their own capacities to ensure the future of the EUROPARC Federation.
