The National Parks Agency is collaborating in 2026 with Wandelnet, the official manager of Long-Distance Walking Routes and Regional Paths in the Netherlands. Every month, a blog about a walk in a national park will be published.

We kick off with a walk in De Meinweg National Park. The editor of Wandelnet walked the route Walking Over a Terrace Landscape of approximately 17 kilometers. A route along the characteristic 'streams and faults' and the terrace landscape. 'It goes up and down, not very steep, but the hiker constantly notices the differences in elevation. The landscape is varied; no major differences, but if you pay attention, you see that the soil and moisture conditions lead to variation in vegetation.'
