How can national parks play a larger role in solving some societal issues related to the landscape around nature, water (quality), energy, and living? And how do we ensure that nature, recreation, economy, and the living environment strengthen each other?

In the latest edition of R&T Magazine, program manager David van Zelm van Eldik of the National Parks Office discusses the societal added value of national parks. He also emphasizes that recreation, if well-organized, can be a driver for innovation, nature restoration, and regional development.
