The Hollandse Biesbosch is a true jungle. You really experience this from a canoe when paddling through the creeks. You pass under overhanging branches and along the lush banks. The guide shares all sorts of information about the Biesbosch along the way. An exciting adventure for the whole family! This excursion is suitable for children aged 7 and up.

With a small whisper boat, you sail to different bird areas. Here you disembark for a brisk walk through the rugged Biesbosch. The areas are often in open connection with the river and, partly due to the tides, are an excellent foraging area for waterfowl.

The Biesbosch awakens! Canoe through the creeks in the early morning, a special experience for the true nature lover. At sunrise, an orchestra of songbirds sounds in the willow floodplain forest. Under the guidance of the guides, you paddle peacefully through the Biesbosch.

The guide leads you through a unique part of Biesbosch nature. Along the way, you will learn more about the flora and fauna in this freshwater tidal area. In the twilight, you might encounter the iconic Biesbosch beaver. Just like the fish and white-tailed eagle: the largest birds of prey species that live in the Biesbosch (and even in the Netherlands). 

In the spring, the birds can be heard and seen in abundance. The guide steers the comfortable whisper boat at sunrise to a spot for a beautiful walk through the Biesbosch. There you will go birdwatching. Bring your binoculars.

During the magical morning light, go with the forest ranger in search of birds in the Biesbosch. Especially in spring, you can see and hear hundreds of birds. There are various starting locations. 

Pick up a free route map at one of the two starting locations on Saturday, May 23, and set out on your journey. Along the way, you will encounter guides who will help you find animals and plants. Collect stamps on your route map. With a full card, you'll receive a nice gift.

From the boat, search for the largest birds of prey in the southwestern delta: the sea eagle and the osprey. The guide navigates the boat right through their domain in the most fish-rich parts of the national park. During a stopover, take a walk through typical Biesbosch nature: roughened willow fields and reed polders with bitterns lead the way. 

From the water, under the guidance of the ranger, you go in search of one of the most iconic Biesbosch residents: the beaver. Along the way, you'll make a stop for a walk, looking for traces. The boat trip includes a bread meal with soup.

Put on your detective hat and discover which types of animals and plants live in Maasduinen National Park. During the Discovery Tour on Saturday, May 23rd, you will walk around the Reindersmeer and encounter Maasduinen guides along the way who will help you spot these species.

How well do municipal council members know National Park De Meinweg and the surrounding Limburg Maas terraces? On Saturday, May 23, they will walk with nature guides through the nature reserves in the municipalities of Beesel, Roermond, Roerdalen, Maasgouw, and Echt-Susteren. They will get to know the unique varied landscapes and the great biodiversity. Along the way, they will participate in the National Parks Species Challenge by going on a species hunt for animals and plants with ObsIdentify. Residents can join the walk and engage in conversation with the council members about nature and landscape in their area.

With a minibus, you visit various bird-rich areas and take some short walks. Look for geese, ducks, waders, meadow birds, gulls, and terns. But also migratory songbirds and birds of prey can be seen at this time of year.
